Our balanced daily rhythm provides structure while allowing flexibility for children's needs

8:00 – 8:30 (Start of the day)

  • Receive / greet parents / do observation
  • Creative activity (should be manageable for children without teachers guidance)
  • Listen to songs and rhymes, read, fantasy play, building blocks and Educational toys
  • General observation of children physical appearance
  • Suncream
  • Register
  • Medication

8:30 – 8:40 (Tidy up and toilet routine)

  • Higiene and self care as a life skill
  • Use duty chart and work in groups

8:40 – 9:00 (Breakfast: Pleasant atmosphere)

  • Porridge (teacher dish up)
  • Wait for each other, pray and eat together
  • Sharpening of life skills
  • Sunblock and hats

9:00 (Tidy up by Assistant: tables and todlers)

  • Neatly pack out the tables of the students
  • Pack out learning stations and toys on the playground

9:00 – 9:20 (Group activity 1 by Teacher)

  • Religious practise (songs, stories, pray)
  • Sharing of news (2 – 4 Children)
  • Weather/ Register/ Calender/ Days of the week and months
  • Theme discussion
  • Songs and rhymes
  • Kinesthetic
  • Gross motor

9:20 – 10:20 (Free play outside: in the front and at the back - no children in class)

  • Hats
  • The outdoor area is an extension of the classroom
  • The playground is divided into learning areas ex. Sandput, waterarea etc supervised by the teachers
  • These areas are being planned weekly by the teacher
  • Tidy up at 10:15

10:20 – 10:40 (Toilet routine and snack)

  • Hygiene break and snack time

10:40–11:05 (Group activity 2)

  • Maths
  • Science
  • Technology
  • Life skills Caps

11:05 – 11:50 (Free play inside: children allowed in class and infront outside - not at the back)

  • Discuss and explain the presentations at the different learning stations
  • 8 Learning stations
  • Individual attention
  • Teacher work in small groups of children at the learning stations
  • Teacher connect with the children playing in the stations– rotate between stations
  • Assistant involved at the other stations and outside
  • All presentations planned by teacher weekly
  • Creative activity or project
  • Free supporting creative activity

11:50–12:00 (Tidy up)

  • Clean up activities and prepare for lunch

12:00 – 12:25 (Group activity 3)

  • Language
  • Stories and puppet show on Fridays
  • Music/ drama/ dance
  • Perseptual

12:25 – 12:30 (Toilet routine and lunch preparation)

  • Toilet routine
  • Lunch preparation (tables and baskets) by assistant

12:30 – 12:50 (Lunch: Pleasant atmosphere)

  • Lunch time with pleasant atmosphere

12:50 – 13:00 (Tidy up/ toilet routine)

  • Clean faces
  • Pack out matrasses
  • Children gradually calm down/ Story of calming activity

13:00 – 13:15 (Group activity 4)

  • Read story before sleep time

13:15 – 14:15 (Rest and sleep)

  • Children can listen to music, songs and rhymes while lying on the matrass
  • Assistant on lunch other assisstant clean and help in class
  • All children have to sleep, rest or busy with quiet activity
  • Must be silent– no noise
  • Write in the messenger books
  • Teachers do assessment

14:15 – 14:30 (Wake up time – Toilet routine – afternoon program start)

  • Sunblock and hats
  • Care and neatness of children (noses, hair en clothes)
  • Make sure all their belongings are packed in the bags

14:15 – 17:00 (Afternoon program)

  • Assistants and children at back playground
  • Playdough, drawing, reading, blockplay, dollies and fantasy play, mud kitchen ware packed out (packed out every day)
  • These activities supervised by assistants
  • Parents come to pick up their children at different times and are supported by the assistant/s

15:00 – 15:15 (Afternoon snack)

  • Higiene and selfcare as a life skill, wash hands
  • Bread, fruit and juice snack

14:00 – 14:15 (Prepare class for the following day - done by Teacher)

  • Educational apparatus and learning stations must be packed out and ready
  • Get all creative material and resources ready for the following day
  • End of the day for Teachers

16:50 – 17:00 (Afternoon program tidy up)

  • Children tidy up outside with assisstant teacher
  • Care and cleanliness of the children (noses, hair en clothes)

17:30 (School closes)

  • End of the day
